Be Still… Stop Striving!

Psalm 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God.
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth!
The Holy Bible: English Standard Version. 2001 (Ps 46:10). Wheaton: Standard Bible Society.
Psalm 46:10 Cease striving and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.
New American Standard Bible : 1995 update. 1995 (Ps 46:10). LaHabra, CA: The Lockman Foundation.
This seems to be a reoccurring theme.. He is our refuge and our strength. Life may be hectic, our world is in an uproar, but He is still sovereign. We should remember, there is nothing new under the sun. This too shall pass. He is not surprised by this, why are we? He still loves us and cares for our needs. We can safely put our trust in Christ. For He alone reigns over the earth.
I am meditating on this .. On His steadfast Love and His mercy which endures forever. The more I come to know this, I find myself at peace. But how would I know He could take care of every need if I did not go through rough times? If I never had a time of trouble I would not know He is my Peace!
I LOVE the NASB translation of this verse. Cease Striving. OUCH. This hit be right between the eyes. Straight to my heart. I am a striver. I am a doer. But I also love to control my world. I am then not seeing what He is doing and I miss out on the peace. I miss our on contentment. I must stop my striving and  know that He is God.  The word Know here in the Hebrew is “To be certain, to know, to discern, comprehend, to be sure”
He created all things in heaven and earth. He made a way for you and I .. there is nothing to hard for Him. So do not strive today. Know He has your future well at hand .. all you have to do is .. be still in your soul. Cease striving. You are already precious to Him.  You are already the one He adores. You do not need to work for His approval. He has already placed  His  mark of approval on you when you accepted His Son, Jesus Christ as your Savior. He already is impressed by you and finds you Captivating!
in His Love,
