I felt a tugging in my heart to write a word of encouragement :) If you are blessed to have children call you Mom, be encouraged and hold your head up. It is one of the highest callings we can have as women. We are their first teacher. Children by watching us, learn most of what truly is important. Important truths.. God, Family, manners, and much more are caught so much more than taught. They see us daily and our hopes, behaviors, words and reactions are caught up in their hearts. We are the ones who by simple love, will encourage them in the knowledge of the Lord. We are the ones who will care how they are doing in their hearts and in their learning of life. It is a beautiful position. How many times have you heard your child say something in the same tone, same words, same reflections as you do and either fill you with joy if it was uplifting or humiliation if it was not? We are the ones who rock the world, ladies 🙂
Motherhood is a ministry. We are the ones who ‘preach’ to our children in the manner in which we speak and teach and live. The Word says in Proverbs 14:1,
The wise woman builds her house, but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down.
Dear ones, let us encourage ourselves in the Lord. He has given us a role in our children’s lives that is noteworthy.. if only to the LORD.. the everyday tasks of changing a diaper for the umpteenth time, wiping the nose til it is red, picking up that toy or reminding your child to pick up after himself so many times you feel your tongue will waggle off while they are young can be tiring, that is for sure. Remember, little things like teaching respect, reminding ourselves that our words mean things… will bring fruit in the long run 🙂 When we are up at all hours of the night, remember what the Lord says in Matthew 11:28-30
Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
If you find yourself burdened with cares, tired and fighting frustrations that we all get, say a breath prayer. Cry out to Him. He will meet you wherever you are. He is faithful. He cares. He gave you these children to raise and care for and He will not give you more than you can handle with His help. We must remember that last part, He will not give us more than we can handle.. with HIM!! We must be fully dependant on Him. Run to Him, Pray simple breathe prayers every time we are picking up the latest mess and know He will give us strength 🙂
And yes, You are a minister of the Gospel of Christ to your children! Motherhood is a ministry 🙂
I pray this finds you blessed!
in His love,
