As many as I love, I reprove and discipline. Be zealous, therefore, and repent! Behold, I stand at the door and knock! If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, indeed I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with me. The one who conquers, I will grant to him to sit down with me on my throne, as I also have conquered and have sat down with my Father on his throne. The one who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’　” Revelation 3:19-22
So many know this verse in conjunction with salvation and most assuredly, He does call to all to come to repentance and He desires none would perish but have everlasting life. What we as believers miss out on is that the precious gift of everlasting life starts when we receive His gift! We live our lives as if we have to wait to have that peace that He promises. That we must wait to have that intimate, close relationship with Him. That we must deal with our own penance but He paid that price already and we are free now!
We are able to live with joy knowing that the covenant has been sealed. We should open to Him the doors of the secret parts of our hearts that we are too ashamed to admit that is there. We must let Him in to bring healing. Our becoming the children of God is all about our restoration. The plan to restore what was lost in the garden has been put in place. Now it is our turn to allow Him to do His thing. He wants us to live in the Favor of God which we have when we accept Jesus as our Savior. But I challenge you to allow Him to be your Lord. Let Him access to all of you. Surrender brings Freedom. True Freedom.
He speaks of dining with Him. I can picture this. The family sitting around a dinner table. At my house, it is not a quiet affair. We are sharing our days, our struggles and joys. We are laughing and connecting. This is what He desires. Christianity is not a religion but a relationship with the Creator of the Universe. He would love to dine with you. Open that door!
in His love,
