Digging Into The Word,

Dig Into the Word Blog Hop

I love the Word of God! I know you do too! I am a Word Nerd 🙂 I first heard that phrase by Wendy Pope at wendypope.org. She is a wonderful blogger and speaker with proverbs 31 ministries.  That phrase just rung out in my heart! That is who I am! I invite you to join me on the journey in the Word and Link Up with me! We blog about it once a week. Just share once a week, what you read in your devotional time with Him and what did He taught you in the Word!  Come and Link Up Here! Why not tweet and share the joy?

My reading today was one of my favorites 🙂

14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 15 Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place. 16 For now have I chosen and sanctified this house, that my name may be there for ever: and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually. 17 And as for thee, if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, and do according to all that I have commanded thee, and shalt observe my statutes and my judgments; 18 Then will I stablish the throne of thy kingdom, according as I have covenanted with David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man to be ruler in Israel.
The Holy Bible: King James Version) (2 Ch 7:14–18)..

I know this passage is often related to praying for our countries. But, this morning, it hit me personally. This passage speaks of healing of lands but it starts with each one of us. I pray for a renewing of our country’s spiritual life. I plead for revival .. well, revival always starts individually! It starts at home. I must be humbling myself and I need to call on His name. I need to seek His face. Not a casual attitude but seek. To really put effort and go after with all my heart. Revival calls for and starts with repentance. And that starts with me.

Then, He promises to hear me!  He will hear my prayer. As always, there is a premise with a promise. If we… then He will. And He always keeps His promise! He promises to hear  prayer. He promises to heal our land.

I could write on this for some time but the end result is the same. He is a good good God. He calls us by name and He wants to heal our land but it all starts with individuals. Let’s get on our knees, dear ones!
