Trim Healthy Mama Journey
1 Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.
2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may approve what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. (Ro 12:1-2, NASB).
As many of you have known, I have been on a journey with the Lord to become whole in all manners. And lately, I have been convicted in a couple of manners. I am focusing today on both mind and body but these all come after my spiritual health.
Who am I?
I am first and foremost, His. He is my Beloved and he is mine. I must know my place in His kingdom, understand my identity is found in Him and everything else comes afterwards. This is true balance. And if I am not living in balance, my whole world will be off kilter. Â And I find my priorities in His Word. This passage is a little hard for me to swallow. I have not been committed to the full in offering this area to the Lord. To present my body as a living and holy sacrifice is, for me, hard. It is complete surrender and that does not come natural for me. But, my heart’s desire is to be an acceptable offering to God and my life to be one of worship so… I am changing my mind and giving up my will and I know He will sustain me and help me as I walk out my obedience.
My Path on the Journey
I am jumping on the Trim Healthy Mama bandwagon…..kind of. I am finding this to be a lifestyle that suits my likes, abilities and family. I need a lifestyle change, not a quick fix and this seems to be God’s answer to my prayers. I can easily adapt recipes to fit this way of eating and still feel like I’m satisfied. And I do not have a hard time eating every two-three hours. I already have given up sodas for water so that is enjoyable as well.
Do I fail? yes. But, I am learning that like all things of God, there is no condemnation and I will not allow this to be a legalistic endeavor either. Â I have no problems ridding my diet of sugar and I do not have to rid my life of sweet tasting or fulfilling meals.
So, I thought I would share a simple recipe for you.
Mrs A’s Lamb Roast
1 Lamb Roast
I use seasonings from Costco called Organic, no salt seasonings. It has rosemary in it.
I cover it in seasoning, place it in a baking dish and add about an inch worth of water on the bottom. Cover with foil and cook at 400 degree oven for about 1 1/2 hours until it reaches 140 degrees. You could always have veggies cook on the bottom. We serve it with Quinioa and steamed broccoli.
It is really easy and my family LOVES it!
