Accepted in the Beloved
As I was growing up, I knew that I was loved. I knew my parents loved me. They gave me a sense of who I was and who I would become. I was the baby if the family and the only daughter. I am loved. I know I have a heritage and a future because of who I am and the family I was born into.
When I became a Christian, I was given a new identity. One that was purchased by the blood of my Savior, Jesus Christ. I changed from a sinner to a saint. I was adopted into the family of God. As I have lived a little, I have not always made wonderful choices and have sinned. I have fallen short, yet He still forgives. I have learned that He is gracious beyond measure, and I am loved. I am a daughter of a heavenly Father who is a good good Father.
It’s all about identity.
That new identity was given to me because I am in Christ and so are you if you have become a child of God. Ephesians 1 states,
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him. In love, He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved.” Eph. 1:3-6. nasb. The ESV uses the word, Accepted for Bestowed.
Bestowed, taken from the Strongs, “5487. Χαριτόω charitŏō, khar-ee-tŏ´-o; from 5485; to grace, i.e. indue with special honor:—make accepted, be highly favoured.”
We are women, created in His image, and we were called for such a time as this. We are filled with grace, given a special honor, we are accepted and highly favored. Ponder this for a while.
I really want you ladies to read this! To grasp this one thing that is coming to my heart. It is The Blessing. Not as some of us would usually think of it. But when we take into account the Blessing as an inheritance, that is given to the first-born in the Old Testament. That is what He is giving to each one who accepts His gift. He is bestowing an inheritance of grace. His name is written on our foreheads. We are claimed as His. We are adopted into His family with all the rights and privileges that come with. Please take a moment and realize how precious you are!!! You are BELOVED! In biblical times, if a child is born, he is family. He is loved. But, he can be given away. A child who has been adopted is forever their child. The bond cannot be broken. You are adopted into the Family. No one can take you from Him!
It’s all about identity.
We are Accepted, Bestowed in the Beloved. We are His Beloved Jewels.
Who’s your daddy?
