Coffee and Causes

I am enjoying a new cup of coffee. Some things never change yet 2016 is here! This is the time that  many of us feel we get a new chance to start over. 2015 is gone and time to move forward with new beginnings. It was a year of transition and change, a year of coffee and causes.

And this transition will continue into 2016 for many of us! New changes to the blog, growing Bible Studies, new opportunities, and growing dreams will be the focus of my little world for the near future. And in the midst of this is the growing need to join in the greatest cause of all, the Great Commission. So,  please grab your coffee..

I’ve been reading John 4 in my morning quiet time. I’m pondering a passage I’ve read many times before:

32      But He said to them, “I have food to eat that you do not know about.”
33      So the disciples were saying to one another, “No one brought Him anything to eat, did he?”
34      Jesus *said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to accomplish His work.
35      “Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look on the fields, that they are white for harvest.
36      “Already he who reaps is receiving wages and is gathering fruit for life eternal; so that he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together.
37      “For in this case the saying is true, ‘One sows and another reaps.’
38      “I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored and you have entered into their labor.”(nasb)
Many believers have gone before us and we benefit from their work and many will be able to benefit from the work we achieve.  We all have many differing ways to ‘work the soil’ but the goal is the same, to plant seeds and bring in a harvest.  This is our united goal. Man and women, both created in His image and given the same command, to ‘Go’.
There are many causes to join and fight for. New beginnings are in front of us. My prayer is that we would be a church of believers, united together in one cause. To know Him and do His will, whatever that is individually and corporately, work the harvest and ‘Go’!
