Security and Strength

security   Security vs Strength

~We LOVE security! We crave security. We like to know that we can trust our family and friends.  We are not especially fond of not being in control of our environments and our lives.  We do not like an unstable world.  Especially when we are younger, when the world shakes, we want to run to our Daddy.  He would make it alright and safe in the end.

When we look to anything or anyone else to find our sense of peace, (which when we think about it, is what we are truly after.. security equates to peace right?) we are looking in the wrong place. When we try to feed that hunger with things,  within our boyfriend or husband, with food, with anything but Him, we only satisfy that desire for security and control for a short time. Only He satisfies the soul. Only He can give us the security which we crave so dearly. To be a woman of strength, we do not need a guy in our life. We do not need anything or anyone other than Jesus!

Also, when we look to anyone else but Jesus for our security, we lose our own voice. When we find ourselves, find our identity in Him, our voice becomes stronger. We walk in the authority of His kingdom and we are truly clothed in strength and dignity and we can laugh without the fear of the future (Proverbs 31:25, paraphrase mine).

As we grow older, we find that we can handle more than we thought. We find a hidden strength lying under the surface. As we become mature in Christ, we find that we are not only equipped for the challenge set before us, we are stronger than we think. “For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline. “( 2 Timothy 1:7, nasb).  It truly is about Jesus and me 🙂 As I grow older, I have found it to be true, I can do no thing But with Jesus, I can do all things THROUGH Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13.
