Homemade Soaps and Cleaners

I have a frugal blessing for you! I originally received this from my dear friend at Marmee’s Pantry
Homemade Dishwasher Soap

equal parts of
Borax
Baking Soda
if it leaves some spots, just a couple of drops of liquid dish soap or what I use, a few drops of pure Camimille soap

To Shine Chrome in your sink..

mix 2 tbls soap to 1 tbl white distilled vinegar

Homemade Glass Cleaner

2 cups rubbing alcohol (70 percent isopropyl)
1/2 cup ammonia
1 tsp dish detergent (liquid)
top with water until you have 1 gallon of window cleaner

Is your Disposal Getting Clogged and Stinky?

Once a month, put a lemon down it..

Is your coffee pot slowing down?

Run it thru with distilled white vinegar

Enjoy!

Blessings! Kim blessed me with this recipe 🙂 You can read her blog at Marmee’s Pantry!
My middle son, “C” helped me with this batch so I took pics to share. This was our first batch and it fit into our homeschooling lesson that day 🙂 I love the smell and it works well with my high efficient washer!
I took a pan, wooden spoon, grater and whisk.. all labeled to be used only for soap making 🙂 I gathered Fels Neptha, Arm and Hammer Washing Soda, Borax and lavender essential oil.

Next, we put 8 cups of water in  the pan, put it on the stove to get it warm. Cody then started to grate 1/4 bar of Fels Neptha soap.  We then added 1/4 c each of the Washing Soda and Borax and whisked them together gently.

Then we added it to the water and turned it up to medium high. We stirred it until everything dissolved in the water.
Next, we stirred it occasionally for 20 minutes. We then took it off the heat and let stand in the pan. It gelded a bit and then we added it to the air tight container. I will use it tomorrow. I am so excited!
with much love,
Mrs. A
