Faith, Pt 2
For still the vision awaits its appointed time;
it hastens to the end it will not lie.
If it seems slow, wait for it;
it will surely come; it will not delay.
4 Behold, his soul is puffed up; it is not upright within him,
but the righteous shall live by his faith.
The Holy Bible: English Standard Version. 2001 (Hab 2:3-4). Wheaton: Standard Bible Society.
I am an excited woman! I LOVE His Word! He has given us all we need to make it. To come to a real knowledge of Him, we must know His Word, so come with me as I dive into the Bible with me, a fellow sojourner in this life.
We are called to live by faith. The word for faith in this passage is •m, em-oo-naw´; fem. of 529; lit. firmness; fig. security; mor. fidelity: faith (-ful, -ly, -ness, [man]), set office, stability, steady, truly, truth, verily. He is calling us to be faithful. Steady. Set in place. Standing Firm without wavering. The faithful are the ones who will overcome until the end. Fidelity rings of a close relationship that one remains true to. Doesn’t retreat from or betray. We have security in Him for our eternal life, our standing with God as He took our place on the cross in payment for our sins. He offers this to us freely!
We can so easily lose our way in this world. So many distractions, so many trials and troubles to take away our vision of what truly matters. But if we have faith, if we keep on steady and firm, we will come to know Him. For we must have faith to believe yes?
We first see this phrase in Habakkuk and it is a favorite phrase of Paul. It is basis of how we live today. As crazy as it sounds to our human minds, our hearts must live by faith. We are only justified and found to be upright in His eyes if we trust Him and walk by His Words. We must have faith. It is our life blood. So we must know Who we have faith in. Â

Faith, Hebrews 11:1 says …
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.(ESV) Â This is a passage that we are very familiar. This is what lay our hats on so to speak as we have not seen Jesus with our physical eyes but we can ‘see’ Him in our eyes of faith.
This definition of Faith is taken from Easton’s Bible Dictionary.
FAITH Faith is in general the persuasion of the mind that a certain statement is true (Phil. 1:27; 2 Thess. 2:13). Its primary idea is trust. A thing is true, and therefore worthy of trust. It admits of many degrees up to full assurance of faith, in accordance with the evidence on which it rests.
Who do we put our trust in? Today, we learn that God is.. El Shaddai.. Lord God Almighty. He is LORD, with all capital letters. This is to signify that He is Lord God over all. There is no one above or beside Him. He is Sovereign and reigns over everything. He is worthy of our trust. We cannot see Him with our eyes but He is worthy of our faith.
The word for faith in this passage is pistis which means conviction, credence, persuasion. We are persuaded to the core of our being that He is God. He is LORD over all things. Over every aspect of our lives. This brings ultimate peace. Have you given with full confidence your faith in, El Shaddai? Come to www..proverbs31jewels.com to Digging Deeper Group and share!
